Avlaki
beach is located near Porto Rafti and is about 38 kilometers east of Athens.
The seas are crystal pure, and the sandy beach is appropriate for people of all
ages. There is a well-organized beach for individuals who want to swim while
enjoying all of the amenities. The beach of Avlaki attracts numerous bathers
precisely because of its character and location. If you don't want to go to the
organized beach, you can go to the "little beach," which is a free
beach to its right. There's also Kalo Gyalos with the same-named restaurant,
where the beach is free, and between Kalo Gyalos and the beach, one can dive in
the vast free beach with some facilities but no ticket.
Shortly
after Porto Rafti, there is a sandy beach which attracts a large number of
visitors. Erotospilia is the name of the beach. It is well-known among
vacationers in the neighborhood and beyond because it is a lovely, little beach
with sand and blue waters that also offers beach activities. The tourist is
entitled to Erotospilia at Porto Rafti, which is only 36 kilometers from
Athens' centerIt's a little bay with a lovely landscape, clear blue waves, and
golden beach. On hot summer days, it is sheltered from meltemia (summer winds),
and the shade of the little cave and the trees provides coolness and
tranquility.
A beach
hidden just before Legrena, in the direction of Sounio, and after the town of
Harakas, has been the great secret of the Athenian alternative swimmers for
years. The enormous sign that reads "Property K.A.P.E." directs you to
a right turn into a dirt road, and a second sign welcomes you to the
"Renewable Energy Center" a little farther down. Leave your car on
the gravel plateau and walk a few meters till you find the cemented steps
(about 200!). This will lead you to the ideal island setting: a gorgeous rocky beach
with fine sand and crystal clear blue waves. Because there are no umbrellas,
sunbeds, or... trees on the beach, remember to bring your hat! What about the
required supplies? A canteen (typically open on weekends) offers snacks and
coffee until sundown at the point where the drop to the beach begins.
